The November Group 3.11.2018 - 24.2.2019

One of the most significant artist groups in the history of Finnish art was founded amid the unrest of the general strike of 1917: the November Group. 2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the group’s first exhibition, and Villa Gyllenberg's exhibition displayed works from 1916 to 1926 by the artists Wäinö Aaltonen, Ilmari Aalto, Mikko Carlstedt, Alvar Cawén, Marcus Collin, Ragnar Ekelund, Viljo Kojo, Anton Lindforss, Alex Matson, Juho Mäkelä, Eero Nelimarkka and Tyko Sallinen.

Wäinö Aaltonen - Known and unknown 11.4-14.10.2018

An exhibition with both sculptures and paintings by the Finnish artist Wäinö Aaltonen. The exhibition was composed of both Gyllenberg foundation's works as well as works from other museums, such as the Wäinö Aaltonen museum in Turku.

Selected works from the Gyllenberg art collection 22.11.2017-25.3.2018

Works by prominent Finnish artists like Edelfelt, Gallen-Kallela and Helene Schjerfbeck were selected from the Signe and Ane Gyllenberg foundation's collection. Schjerfbeck was Ane Gyllenberg's favorite artist and we have a fair amount of her works permanently on display.

Ane Gyllenberg – A Collector’s Independence 29.03 – 29.10. 2017

The Signe and Ane Gyllenberg Foundation celebrated the centenary of Finnish independence by organizing the exhibition Ane Gyllenberg - A Collector's Independence. In addition to the art in the Gyllenberg Collection, the exhibition included 47 key works on loan from the most important art collections in Finland.

The exhibition presented around a hundred works of art divided into four themes: Melancholic Rooms, Vierge Moderne – Modern Virgins, National Sentiments and The Child in Art.
